I bought an extended 5 year warranty from Orvilles from New Leaf. I have been without a fridge since November 30. I lost everything in my freezer. I was instructed to purchase what I lost and send it in to New Leaf.

I had 72 hours to do this. I CANNOT PURCHASE GOOD AS I STILL DONT HAVE A WORKING FRIDGE!

I HAVE NOT HESRD NACK FROM WARRANTY COMPANY AS TO HOW THEY ARE HANDLING THIS. I SPENT $2,200 AT ORVILLES AND I CANT GET ANYONE TO TELL ME WHAT THE NRXT STEP IS.

Scam company!! Do not use!

I have four warranty contracts which cost me quite a bit! When my dishwasher broke they said it was too old to fix!! They said they would buy out my contract and they would only give me $109.00 to replace the unit . The new unit cost me $1899!

I was told by one rep that I would get $400. The other rep told me no! I said that I would write a negative review and she did not care!!!

Do not buy from them!! My appliance store refuses to use them anymore as well!

  • - Warranty issues and door problems; hair dryer advice voided warranty.
Updated by user Jul 08, 2025

Talked to multiple people from customer service representatives to managers and supervisors, no one would resolve my issue regarding my 3 yr old fridge. Also spoke with the manager from the company we purchased the warranty from, no one would resolve my issue.

Consequentially I had to purchase a new fridge. Take my advice do not buy a New Leaf warranty, it was a total waste of money!!!!

Original review Jun 18, 2025
I purchased a whirlpool refrigerator 1/11/22. From the time it was installed the refrigator door had a gap in the bottom and would not close.

The freezer wold not freeze ice cream. I called whirlpool, they sent a repair person out, before he would come he had me send him pictures to make sure there was really a gap put a hair dryer on the gasket and the vasoline on the gasket and said it would be fine, I did complain about not being able to freeze ice cream, asked if the freezer made ice, which it did, was told nothing wrong with freezer. When the door still did not close I call my local Whirlpool approved dealer who wound up replacing the door twice, because the wrong door was shipped. Consequently all this took a long time.

we are now at the end of our manufacturers warranty. I called New Leaf, they insisted we needed a new gasket, I tried to explain to them it was not the gasket it was the door. They sent a repair person from Sears came out to look at fridge, said yes it does need a gasket and ordered one. I took 1 month for the gasket to come in and 2 months for the repair person to come back.

It is now the weekend before xmas, I have 18 people coming for dinner and 15 pounds if tenderloin in my fridge. When he took the gasket out of the box after he removed the old gasket from the door, the new gasket was broken so he put the old on back on, ordered a new one. After he left I opened the fridge door and the gasket fell off!!! I tried to call the repair comp but being a weekend there was no one in the office.

I did call the emergency line, but was told where it was a warranty I would have to wait until Monday and call New Leaf. The only way to keep the door closed was to put gallon jugs of water in front if the door. Someone did come from Sears on Sunday and said the fame that held the gasket was damaged either from when the gasket was removed or put back on. he said I needed a new door, sent pictures to the company.

They did not agree and would only replace the gasket. Consequently I had to put child locks on the fridge door to keep it shut 18 people for dinner on xmas and anyone who went into the fridge had to get through 2 child locks. the only thing I can say we will all talk about it for a long time!!! Spoke the many people at New Leaf to no avail, finally spot to Angel in the settlement office, no help.

spoke with Richie Greenland the storm manager at Baron's Appliance where the bought the fridge and the extended warranty from, neither one could help. Eventually I was told I had voided the warranty because I had told then I had put a hair dryer on the gasket in the beginning ( which is what I was told to do over the phone by the repair department at Baron's.. SO BEWARE!!! EXPENSIVE LESSON WAS LEARND ON MY PART AS I HAD TO BUY A NEW FRIDGE.

Which I did not buy from Barron Appliance. And it a miracle I now have hard ice cream and not soft serve.

User's recommendation: I would not recommend New Leaf warranty, or Baron Appliance!!

Does not honor warranty

  • - Purchased a 5-year Newleaf warranty for a Kitchenaid ice maker.
  • - The unit fails often; Flamingo Appliance changes parts but does not fix it.
Original review updated May 03, 2025

I purchased a 5-year Newleaf d/b/a Monthly Warranty through Plessers Appliances for my undercounter Kitchenaid ice maker. This company is worthless.

They point fingers at Kitchenaid/Whirlpool, and Kitchenaid/Whirlpool points fingers at them. The unit has been broken probably 50% of the time, and the appliance repair company, mostly Flamingo Appliance, is nothing but a parts changer. Now that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool says it is not fixable, now Newleaf/Monthly Warranty says it is, and it's up to Kitchenaid/Whirlpool to fix it. Now Kitchenaid/Whirlpool says it's out of the manufacturer warranty, but my service warranty contract still has one month to go, although the last breakdown occurred over 2 months ago, and all Darrell of Flamingo did was change parts and never could get it to work.

As you can see, everyone is pointing fingers at each other, and I'm stuck with a dead icemaker when it should be replaced. This unit has had a total of 3 compressors, evaporators, dryers, cutting grid wires, filler sensor, and I could keep going. I've called and spoken with a supervisor at New Leaf/Monthly Warranty. Don't waste your time.

Stay far away from this company. All they do is drag everything out, hoping the extended warranty will expire and I will go away. I'm not done letting the world know how bad they are.

UPDATE: I have now hired an attorney.

After one reply to my attorney claiming that Whirlpool is going to call me and replace my unit they ignored follow-up letter from my attorney when Whirlpool never called as they claimed they would. I have authorized my attorney to file a lawsuit for breach of contract against all parties involved.

  • - Rated 4 stars due to past positive dealings with Newleaf.

The representative, while pleasant and helpful, was obviously in a room with many others also on the phone. I had extreme difficulty hearing him, and even myself, over the background noise as I responded to his queries.

Unpleasant experience due to the noise level. Because the representative was pleasant, and because I have dealt with Newleaf in the past and have been extremely pleased, I rated them 4 stars.

They lie and will not honor the contract

AI Highlights
  • - Bought a 5-year freezer plan for $229.
  • - New Leaf won't honor contract.
  • - Claim 364**** opened 1/9/24 for leak.
  • - Techs said part is non-serviceable.
Contains 1 confidential file for company representatives

On 12/31/2021, I purchased an extended 5-year service plan on a freezer from New Leaf Service Pro, for $229.00. They refuse to honor the contract and I have exhausted my efforts with them.

I opened a claim with them (364****) on 1/9/24 for a leaking ice maker.

The technician came out two times and determined that the broken part was a non-serviceable part on 1/22/24.

New Leaf continues to lie to me saying that the case has been assigned to the pending review team and that I will have an offer (of some sort) within 24-48 hours, since the freezer cannot be repaired. They continue to tell me this lie and I cannot get any traction. Nobody will return my phone calls or respond to my emails. They promise to reach back out and provide an update, but they never do.

Its just the same lie, over and over.

1/26 Amelia told me the lie.

1/31 Rey told me the lie.

2/5 Jose Garcia told me the lie.

2/8 Julio told me the lie and hung up on me.

2/8 Karina contacted the service provider to get more information. She also lied about sending me an email.

2/9 Karina told me the lie.

2/16 Ashley told me the lie.

Loss:

Cons:

Preferred solution: I want them to either repair or replace the freezer. Since they claim they cannot repair it, I want a replacement.

Hello Kairee Dwb, We regret to hear that you are not satisfied with the extended service plan. The plan you purchased is a service plan with a limit of liability.

When a product is not able to be repaired or it is not cost-effective to do so, we make an effort to supply a comparable unit based on the remaining limit of liability. In this situation, we were unable to find a comparable unit and proceeded to provide the remaining limit of liability as outlined in your service agreement. New Leaf has fulfilled all obligations as stipulated in the service plan. If you would like our Executive Customer Service Team to further evaluate your situation, please contact the number provided in your service agreement and request to speak with the Executive Service Team.

When you call, please mention this review. Sincerly, Diana D Customer Experience Manager

  • - Rebate requires exact documents and a single submission; any error denies it.
  • - Avoid Gotham Service Plans; BBB rating questioned; customer service rude.
Updated by user Feb 09, 2024

The next day, I was contacted by the owner of Gotham Sales. He did a thorough review of my rebate submittal as well as my email interaction with his customer service agent. He apologized for the unprofessional conduct of his customer service agent and shared that this agent was written up for his conduct — he never once got defensive which I appreciate very much as it’s a trait you don’t often see these days.

He also explained why they only allow one submittal — time.

He said it took too much time to process a resubmitted claim because in his experience, it required multiple interactions with a customer with a resubmitted claim. I respectfully disagreed with him explaining with an adequately detailed request for more information to a customer, I’d expect that most customers would be able to produce the required paperwork in one more pass.Ultimately, it was a very cordial conversation and he agreed to reprocess my claim.

Original review updated Feb 09, 2024
Buyer beware. They market an extended warranty for appliances with a pitch that youll receive 50% back of your purchase price of an unused New Leaf extended warranty.
You have one shot at mailing in your claim for the rebate.

If you dont have everything exactly as they want (invoice vs receipt), youll be denied. This is understandable, however, you only get one chance to submit. If they determine any one minute detail is not to their specification, thats it, no rebate for you, period. No clarification or request for more documentation.
Furthermore, I found their customer service to be extremely rude and petty, seemingly always needing to get in the last word as you would expect from a child.

If I owned or managed this business, Id be shocked and embarrassed at how they communicate with customers and conduct themselves. If I was New Leaf, Id immediately drop them.
What I find interesting is they have an A+ BBB rating, with no review (prior to this).

However, if you look up New Leaf Service Contracts, Inc on the BBB website, Yelp, or Google, youll find they are undeserving of this rating and likely only have this rating because they are a third party vendor/administrator of New Leaf plans so their business is easily overlooked.
Bottom line, any contract that Gotham Service Plans are a part of should be a hard pass.
This is my experience with them but judging from other reviews elsewhere, I know Im not alone. Based off my previous interaction with them, I fully expect an unprofessional and passive aggressive response to this.

Will not honor warranty LG Refrigerator -

AI Highlights
  • - Refrigerator unrepaired for 4 months due to warranty issues.
  • - Delays, miscommunication, and extra costs from service visits.

Purchased a LG refrigerator and got the warranty from New Leaf. Was not our choice of warranty companies.

We have been without a working refrigerator for 4 months. Lost our request for service; poor record keeping skills; managers do not call back; sent two repair people on the same day and then charged us for a service call saying that the one technician couldn't find anything wrong with the product and that was because another technician was just there and had to order parts. New Leaf is saying it is a LG problem, and LG is saying it is a new leaf issue because its under warranty. If you purchase any kind of item - make sure this is not the warranty company or just dont purchase the warranty because it is not worth the paper it is printed on.

Customer service agents have no idea what is going on due to poor management of details and what repairs were done on the actual product. spent more money on service calls, and parts; then just to replace the unit.

very frustrating as an individual who works hard for their money, just to have to buy another very expensive appliance. Filing with the Better business Bureau and with our local news station who handles scams such as this

User's recommendation: Do no purchase any type of appliance if this is the warranty company, or just don't purchase the warranty
